The Quebe Sisters Band

The Quebe Sisters are an American fiddle Western swing group from Dallas, Texas. The band consists of sisters Grace, Sophia and Hulda Quebe. Formed in 2002, the band performs Western swing, vintage country and Western (Bob Wills, Sons of the Pioneers, etc.) and traditional Texas style fiddle tunes.〔(Fiddlers on the youth: Quebe sisters offer new take on an old sound - BostonHerald.com )〕 They are currently based in Dallas and tour nationally and internationally,〔http://www.bostonnow.com/entertainment/music/2007/08/22/texas_sisters_swing_into_johnny_ds/〕〔http://2008.sxsw.com/music/showcases/band/55669.html〕 including appearances on the ''Grand Ole Opry''.
The Quebe (pronounced ''kway-bee'') sisters grew up in Krum in Denton County

The three sisters started taking fiddle lessons from Sherry F. McKenzie, a former national fiddle champion, and later from Joey Mckenzie (her husband), also a former national fiddle champion.
The sisters learned traditional Texas-style fiddling and began entering fiddle contests. They had success early on; winning several state, regional, and national fiddle championships.〔(The Quebe Sisters' Arresting Swing Harmonies - washingtonpost.com )〕
The Quebes have been featured on a segment of Bob Phillips' ''Texas Country Reporter'' anthology television series and on episode 571 of the ''WoodSongs Old-Time Radio Hour''. In 2010 the band appeared at the ''Cambridge Folk Festival'' in England. On November 20, 2010, the The Quebe Sisters were featured on A Prairie Home Companion, broadcast from Houston, Texas. The group has also appeared on the Marty Stuart show.
